The silver satin “T SWISS MADE T” signed dial is in pristine condition, free of any scratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. Any imperfections seen are on the crystal, not the dial. The original tritium, which remains fully intact and emits a quick-burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a warm buttermilk hue. The brushed all stainless steel bezel, which rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, is beautiful. The all stainless steel case is in wonderful condition showing negligible wear and very minor signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “WATERRESISTANT INCABLOC AUTOMATIC ALL STAINLESS STEEL SWISS MADE” with “TESTED TO 600 FEET” stamped in the center. The crystal shows light scratching. According to my watchmaker the case back on this watch had never been previously removed and the original sticker remains intact. The quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After recently winding the sharply threaded screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement had an impressive power reserve of approximately 41 hours. The crown winds nicely with a bit of friction and it screws down perfectly. Although the movement runs strong and keeps accurate time considering that it has never been serviced (the case back had never been removed prior to my watchmaker doing so) a complete overhaul is recommended. This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 42 mm including the crown and approximately 19.5 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 11 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 13.5 mm. Although the movement currently runs strong and keeps accurate time considering that it has never been serviced a complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.
