Vintage Dacor Divers/Diving Watch withMint Dial, Butterscotch Patina, All SS Case
This very seldom seen vintage Dacor is in beautiful original, untouched condition. The matte black “Swiss Made” signed dial is as nice a dial as I’ve ever seen. It is absolutely flawless. The original tritium on the dial’s plot markers and hands, all of which remain intact, match perfectly and has aged to a beautiful golden butterscotch hue. The tritium no longer glows after being exposed to bright light. Over the past several decades the hands have developed some corrosion. In my humble opinion they look amazing and add character and soul to the watch. The bezel rotates bi-directionally and the all stainless steel case is in wonderful condition with virtually no signs of use. According to my watchmaker the case is unpolished and the case back had never been removed prior to him doing so. The outside of the case back is engraved “SWISS MADE ANTIMAGNETIC INCABLOC ALL STAINLESS STEEL” along the outer edge with “DACOR” followed by “42134” in the center. The Spiedel stainless steel bracelet is in good shape, showing moderate stretch and it can comfortably fit a 7 inch wrist. Smaller wrists will require a link or two to be removed. The original superdome plexi crystal has some scratching that can likely be polished out. The 17 jewels AS 1701 stamped unadjusted “Dacor Corporation” signed automatic movement is pristine and keeps accurate time. The movement is also stamped KWS. After recently winding the crown 39 full revolutions the watch had a solid power reserve of approximately 41 hours. The original and sharply threaded, non-screwdown crown winds buttery smooth. Although this watch currently keeps near perfect time and the date rolls over as it should, considering that this watch is over 50 years old and likely having never been serviced (case back had never been previously opened and there are no watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back), a complete overhaul is suggested. This watch measures approximately 35.5 mm excluding the crown, approximately 38.5 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 11.5 mm. As mentioned above, although this watch is keeping accurate time and works as it should this is a vintage watch that appears to have never been serviced. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old, and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. A full overhaul is recommended to keep this watching running strong. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. And please study the 12 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch. This vintage 1970’s Le Gran Superautomatic diver has a pristine glossy black “T SWISS T” signed dial that is free of any visibly noticeable scratching, tool marks or defects. The original tritium on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick-burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue. The bezel, which smoothly rotates bidirectionally, looks great. The heavy duty all stainless steel case shows minor wear and is free of any significant dents or dings. The case back is stamped “ALL STAINLESS STEEL – SWISS MADE – SHOCKRESISTANT – WATERRESISTANT – TESTED 333 FEET – 10 ATMOS” with “LEGRAN CO” stamped on the inside of the case back. The crystal shows light scratching. Please note that over the past several decades some dust/debris has gotten between the crystal and crystal ring, settling on the underbelly of the crystal and to a lesser degree the dial. A skilled watchmaker will be able to quickly and easily remove this dust/debris. The quickset date function works flawlessly by either pushing in on the crown or by rolling over a new date and then repeatedly moving the hour hand between the 20.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After recently winding the sharply threaded, non-screwdown crown 30 full revolutions the movement had an impressive power reserve of approximately 41 hours. Although this watch runs strong and keeps near perfect time, given its vintage nature and unknown service history (there are no visible watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back or movement), a complete overhaul is recommended to keep it running strong. This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 13 mm. Although this watch runs strong and keeps accurate time, given that it is approximately 45 years old and considering that the movement appears to have never been serviced, a complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage Clebar Chronograph withMint Dial, Divers All SS Case, Tropic Strap, Orig Box
This vintage Clebar two-register chronograph is an example of a watch that, in my humble opinion, looks much better in person than in pictures. It has a silvery champagne “T SWISS MADE T” signed satin dial that is in pristine condition, free of any visible scratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. Any imperfections seen are on the crystal. The original tritium on the dial and hands, which emits a quick-burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a perfectly matching warm golden buttermilk hue. The black bezel, which rotates bidirectionally with the appropriate amount of tension, looks great with the golden buttermilk colored lume pip complementing the dial and patina beautifully. The all stainless steel case, which appears to have retained its original brushed satin finish to the tops and sides and sharp polished chamfers, is in excellent condition showing minor wear and oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “WATERPROOF INCABLOC ALL STAINLESS STEEL SWISS MADE” with “20 ATM” followed by “TESTED” stamped in the center. The crystal shows scratching which I don’t think looks nearly as pronounced in person as it does in the high magnification pictures. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches that I put up for sale, the case back on this one is torqued to what feels like factory specs and is too tight for me to remove. A skilled watchmaker will have no problem removing it. Based on several identical examples that I’ve owned in the past the movement is likely a 17 jewels unadjusted Swiss Landeron 248 manual wind. It runs strong, keeps accurate time and all chronograph functions work as they should. The top pusher starts the sweep seconds hand and the bottom pusher stops it. With another push the bottom pusher resets the sweep seconds and minute counter (right subdial) back to precisely 0. The pushers have a nice catch and release feel with no signs of gumminess. After recently winding the sharply threaded, non-screwdown crown 37 full revolutions (impressive for a manual wind) the movement had a solid power reserve of approximately 40 hours. Given that this watch is more than 50 years old and considering that the movement has likely never been serviced (given how tight the case back is torqued it may have never been previously removed) a complete overhaul is recommended. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the mid-case, is approximately 11 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 13.5 mm. This watch comes on an original and genuine 19 mm one keeper Tropic strap with signature “ACIER” flared buckle that is in wonderful, fully pliable condition. Additionally the original Clebar box is included which is in excellent overall condition with no damage to the hinges. Although the movement runs strong, keeps accurate time and all chronograph functions work as they should, given the vintage nature of this watch and considering that the movement has likely never been serviced a complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. And please study the 12 high magnification pictures carefully, which were taken in natural light and from various angles, as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch. While the screwdown crown screws down without issue when it is pulled out to be wound or to set the time the crown tends to skip and not fully engage the stem consistently. Considering that this watch appears to be in untouched condition and has likely never been serviced, a full overhaul is recommended. This elusive early 1970’s Bulova Snorkel appears to be in untouched condition. Under the severely scratched crystal the black “- T SWISS T -” signed dial is in pristine, unblemished condition, free of any scratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. The original tritium on the hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick-burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a warm and inviting golden buttermilk hue. The bezel, which rotates bidirectionally and has lost some of its paint enamel, looks great. The massive all stainless steel case is beautifully and uniquely designed with lovely contours. It is in wonderful condition, free of any visibly noticeable dents or dings and no signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “BULOVA 666 FEET STAINLESS STEEL ” with “3 615404″ and “N3″ stamped in the center. While the integrity of the crystal appears to be intact it should be replaced given the significant scratching. The case back shows no signs of ever having been removed and is torqued too tight for me to remove. The quickset date function works by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After winding the original “BULOVA” signed screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement had a healthy power reserve of approximately 38hours. Please note that while the screwdown crown screws down without issue when it is pulled out to be wound or to set the time the crown tends to skip and not fully engage the stem consistently. Given that this watch is approximately 45 years old, that the crown/stem needs an adjustment and considering that the movement has likely never been serviced , a complete overhaul is recommended. This watch measures approximately 40 mm excluding the crown, approximately 44 mm including the crown and approximately 23 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 12 mm. Although the movement runs strong and keeps near perfect time, given that the crown/stem needs an adjustment and considering that the movement has likely never been serviced as the case back shows no signs of having ever been removed, a complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage Avia Divers Watch withMint Dial, All SS Case, Screwdown Crown FOR REPAIR
Until recently this watch was running strong and keeping near perfect time. While the seconds hand continues to move, the hour and minute hands no longer advance, suggesting that the canon pinion needs tightening. There are no signs that this watch has ever been serviced, so after 40 plus years the time has finally come. An overhaul is needed. This rarely seen vintage Avia is in beautiful overall condition. The greyish black “Swiss Made” signed dial is pristine, free of any scratches, tool marks or defects. The original tritium on the dial and hands, which match perfectly, has developed a lovely golden buttermilk patina that emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light. The orange seconds hand is vibrant and gives the dial a wonderful energy. The silver with blue numbered bezel, which freely rotates bidirectionally, is in good shape. For me the bezel rotates too easily, so you may want to have a watchmaker tightened it up a bit. Please note that in the pictures the outer edge of the bezel shows what appears to look like excessive wear from the 43-45 minute mark. Whatever this was cleaned off without issue. A new picture, the 6th one in with an 8 in the date window, has been added to show this. The case is in excellent shape without any significant dents or dings, very light signs of use and insignificant oxidation where the mid case meets the case back. The outer edge of the case back is engraved “ANTIMAGNETIC-INCABLOC-STAINLESS STEEL-SWISS MADE-WATERPROOF” with “20 ATM” followed by “01-0905″ and “0194” engraved in the center. The superdome crystal has scratching/scuffing. Please note that while the dial is pristine some dust/minute debris has gotten between the crystal and crystal ring and now sits on the underbelly of the crystal. The 17 jewels FHF 905 automatic movement with quickset date function is pristine and appears to be untouched. Until recently it had been running strong with a healthy power reserve of over 37 hours and keeping near perfect time. However, now only the seconds hand will advance but the hour and minute hands do not move. With only the seconds hand moving the approximate power reserve period was 40 hours after winding the sharply threaded 4.5 mm screwdown crown 39 full revolutions. The crown winds buttery smooth. The date and time can be manually set without issue and the quickset date function works flawlessly by unscrewing the crown, pulling it out to the second and final position and then turning it clockwise until the desired date has been reached. It’s a great feature that allows you to run through an entire month in literally seconds. Given that the hour and minute hands no longer move and considering that this 40 plus year old watch has likely never been serviced (there are no watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back), a complete overhaul is needed. This watch measures approximately 35.5 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 12.5 mm. As mentioned above, given that the hour and minute hands do not move and considering that this is a vintage watch that has likely never been serviced there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. A full overhaul is needed to get this watch running as it should and healthy for many years of future use and enjoyment. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. And please study the 12 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch. This classy vintage early 1970’s Waltham dive watch with rarely seen Explorer-style dial looks great. The smoky black satin “T Swiss Made T” signed dial looks beautiful, free of any noticeable scratching, chipping, tool marks or defects. All of the dial text and printing is intact and vibrant. The patina of the dial lume dots match the patina of the hands precisely, having aged to a warm and inviting golden buttermilk hue. The original tritium on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact, no longer glows after being exposed to bright light. The vibrant orange seconds hand gives this watch a wonderful energy. The silver bezel, which freely rotates bidirectionally, looks good. The heavy, all stainless steel case appears to be in excellent unpolished condition, showing some scratching but free of any dents, dings or oxidation/rust. The outside of the case back is engraved ALL STAINLESS STEEL CASE AUTOMATIC SWISS MADE WALTHAM. ” The inside of the case back is stamped “WATHAM WATCH Co” followed by “SWISS MADE, 17412-84-5, B339″ and “905. The integrity of the crystal is intact but there is significant scratching. Please note that while the dial appears to be in nearly flawless condition, over time some dust/debris has gotten between the crystal and crystal ring, settling on the underbelly of the crystal and onto the dial. After recently winding the original “W” signed crown 39 full revolutions the watch had a solid power reserve of approximately 38 hours. The crown winds smoothly. Considering that this watch is over 40 years old and likely hasn’t been serviced in several decades (there is a watchmaker service engraving on the inside of the case back), a complete overhaul is suggested. This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 12.5 mm. As mentioned above, given the vintage nature of this watch and because it is running fast and the date wheel rolls over prematurely, there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. A full overhaul is recommended to keep this watch running strong. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. And please study the 12 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch. This vintage 1974 Caravelle has a matte black dial that is in pristine condition, free of any visibly noticeable scratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. The original lume on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick-burst glow on the hands only after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a golden buttermilk hue. The vibrant orange seconds hand complements the dial and patina beautifully. The bezel, which rotates a bit stiffly bidirectionally, is in excellent condition as is the jet black insert. The heavy duty all stainless steel case shows minor wear with the exception of a ding on the chamfer above the bottom right lug. The case shows no signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “CARAVELLE SHOCK RESISTANT WATER-RESISTANT TO 666 FEET STAINLESS STEEL ANTI MAGNETIC” with “N 4″ stamped along the inner edge. The inside of the case back is stamped “3286-DP” followed by “CARAVELLE DIV, “B. The crystal shows scratching and some dust/debris on its underbelly. The 17 jewels unadjusted Japan “II DP” and “N 4″ stamped manual wind movement is clean, runs strong and keeps accurate time. After recently winding the sharply threaded, non-screwdown “C” signed crown 45 full revolutions (phenomenal for a manual wind) the movement had an impressive power reserve of approximately 41 hours. Given that this watch is 45 years old and the movement shows no signs of ever having been serviced (there are no visible watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back or on the movement) a complete overhaul is recommended. This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 10.5 mm. Given the vintage nature of this watch and considering that the movement has likely never been serviced a complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. Vintage Paul Peugeot Divers/Diving Watch withMint Dial, Countdown Bezel, All SS Case
This classy vintage Paul Peugeot is absolutely stunning and it appears to be in untouched condition. The glossy black dial is pristine, free of any visible scratching, tool marks or defects. The original tritium on the dial has aged to a deep golden butterscotch hue while the original tritium on the hands has developed a slightly lighter patina. This subtle difference in patina makes for a truly beautiful contrast. The metal on the hands has corroded slightly over the past several decades, adding character and charm to the watch. The tritium on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact, emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light. The faded black countdown bezel, which smoothly rotates bidirectionally, is in great shape and in certain lighting conditions appears to be dark chocolate brown in color. The all stainless steel case, which still retains its original satin finish, shows virtually no signs of use and is free of any dents or dings. The outer edge of the case back is engraved “SHOCKRESISTANT ANTIMAGNETIC ALL STAINLESS STEEL” with “TESTED TO A DEPTH OF 600 FEET 100% WATERPROOF AND CONDENSATION PROOF” engraved along the inner edge. The inside of the case back is engraved CONDE CO. ” followed by “CASE MADE IN HONGKONG. ” Additionally the case is engraved “HONGKONG between the lugs at 12 o’clock. The crystal has minor scratches that can likely be polished out with Polywatch and or a light polishing. The 17 jewels Standard Time (ST) 92 manual wind movement is pristine and it appears to be untouched. After recently winding the crown 15 full revolutions the watch had a healthy power reserve of approximately 31 hours. The sharply threaded, non-dented original crown winds smoothly. Please note that at the end of the approximate 31 hour power reserve, the watch was running approximately an hour and ten minutes slow. Considering the vintage nature of this watch, that it is running slow and because it has likely never been serviced (there are no watchmaker service markings on the movement or on the inside of the case back), a complete overhaul is suggested. This watch measures approximately 37.5 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40.5 mm including the crown and approximately 17.5 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 12.5 mm. As mentioned above, given the vintage nature of this watch, that it likely has never been serviced and considering that it’s running slow, there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. A full overhaul is recommended to keep this watching running strong. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. While the movement runs strong and keeps accurate time, the quickset day and date functions work as they should and the inner bezel turns bidirectionally, the top pusher is stuck. It had been working perfectly fine before becoming stuck, starting and stopping the minute register and sweep seconds hand while the bottom pusher reset them back to precisely zero. Given this and considering that the movement shows no signs of ever having been serviced a complete overhaul is required. Picture #1 was taken in sunlight while the rest of the pictures were taken in cloudy, overcast conditions. The original lume on the dial and hands, which emits a quick-burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a perfectly matching toasted warm buttermilk hue. The fixed Pepsi bezel looks great. The all stainless steel is in excellent condition showing minor wear, no visibly significant dents or dings and is free of oxidation. The inside of the case back is stamped SEIKO TIME CORP. The crystal shows heavy scratching. The 17 jewels unadjusted SEIKO TIME CORP. Stamped 6139B automatic movement runs strong and keeps accurate time when being worn. Please note that this particular movement does not run respond to winding the crown. Instead it fires up after being gently shaken and or spun face down on a soft, flat surface. It stays running when being worn. If the crown is turned clockwise or counterclockwise the inner bezel will move in the intended direction. The day and date functions work flawlessly by pushing the crown all the way in to change both the day and date in tandem. To change only the date the crown needs to be partially pressed in. The day window is in both English and Spanish. I’d humbly suggest that the crown be pushed all the way in to get to the correct day and then partially press in the crown to advance to the correct date. The chronograph functions had worked perfectly until recently when the top pusher decided to stay stuck and not depress. Given this and considering that the movement shows no signs of ever having been serviced (there are no visible watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back or on the movement) a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 40 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 11 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 12 mm. Given the vintage nature of this watch, that the top pusher is stuck and considering that the movement shows no signs of ever having been serviced a complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. And please study the 12 high magnification pictures carefully, which were taken in natural light and from various angles, as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch. After winding the crown I’ve found it necessary to gently spin the watch face down on a soft, flat surface in order to jump-start the movement. Once it gets going I’ve observed the movement keep accurate time over an approximate 38 hour power reserve period. This vintage 1976 Bulova Caravelle diver has a gray dial that is in pristine condition, free of any visibly noticeable scratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. In my humble opinion it presents much better in person than in the pictures. The original lume on the dial and hands, which emits a quick-burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue. The bezel , which should rotate but does not likely due to gunk buildup underneath , has aged to a lovely pink and black color combination. The beautifully cut all stainless steel case is in excellent condition showing minor wear and no signs of oxidation. The inside of the case back is stamped “Q 106″ followed by “CARAVELLE WATCH DIVISION, “BULOVA WATCH CO. The crystal shows scratching and some dust/debris on its underbelly. The 17 jewels unadjusted “II DP” and “N 5″ stamped manual wind movement is clean and keeps accurate time. After winding the sharply threaded, non-screwdown crown 35 full revolutions the movement had an impressive power reserve of approximately 38 hours. Please note that I’ve found it necessary to gently spin the watch face down on a soft, flat surface after winding the crown in order to jump-start the movement. Given that the movement shows no signs of ever having been serviced (there are no watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back) a complete overhaul is recommended. This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19.5 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 10.5 mm. Given that the movement appears to have never been serviced a complete overhaul is recommended. As such no warranties, express or implied, are attached with the sale of this watch.
