Considering that this watch has likely never been serviced, a complete overhaul is suggested. This vintage Elgin M135 is in wonderful condition. The matte black dial is pristine, free of any scratches, tool marks or defects. The original tritium on the dial and hands, which is fully intact and emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a toasted French vanilla hue. The orange seconds hand has faded to a slightly lighter shade than the vibrant orange found on the bezel, creating a beautiful contrast and giving the dial a wonderful energy. The orange and black bezel looks great and rotates bidirectionally. The all stainless steel case is very clean, showing minor signs of use and still retaining its original brushed satin finish. It is free of any noticeable dents or dings. The case back is stamped “ELGIN” followed by “STAINLESS STEEL” while the inside of the case back is stamped “GRABER” followed by “SWITZERLAND” and 4156. The crystal has light scratching. Please note that there is some minor oxidation on the retaining ring (to the left and right above 1 o’clock), which can likely be removed with a wirebrush during service. Additionally, while the dial appears flawless, over time some dust/debris has gotten between the retaining ring and crystal, settling on the underbelly of the crystal and to a lesser degree the dial. This dust/debris can be easily and quickly removed by a watchmaker using some Rodico and or a dial brush. On the wrist the dial looks spectacular, with the dust/debris being visually imperceptible. The 25 jewels PUW 1463 patented automatic movement with quickset date is lovely and keeps accurate time. Please refer to the asterisked section at the top and bottom of this listing description for more details. After recently winding the crown 39 full revolutions the watch had a very healthy power reserve of approximately 37 hours. The sharply threaded, non-dented crown winds buttery smooth. The quickset date function works by repeatedly moving the hour hand between hours 20 and 24 until arriving at the desired date. This watch measures approximately 36.5 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 11 mm. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. This seldom seen vintage Waltham day-date has a matte gray “T SWISS T” signed dial that is in pristine condition, free of any visibly noticeable scratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. The original lume, which remains fully intact and no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a perfectly matching buttermilk hue. This black bezel, which does not rotate likely due to gunk buildup underneath , looks great. The all stainless steel case shows minor wear and oxidation. The outside of the case back is stamped ALL STAINLESS STEEL CASE – SWISS WALTHAM. ” The inside of the case back is stamped “WALTHAM WATCH” followed by “COMPANY SWISS” and “B – 341. The crystal should be replaced as it shows scratching and frosting. The 17 jewels unadjusted Swiss “WALTHAM WATCH Co” stamped manual wind movement with quickset date function runs strong and keeps accurate time with both the day and date wheels rolling over as they should. The quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After recently winding the Waltham signed non-screwdown crown 35 full revolutions the movement had an impressive 41 hour power reserve period. The crown winds beautifully. Given the movement’s unknown service history (while there are no visible watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back there is some scratching on the movement) a complete overhaul is recommended. This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures 11 mm. Although the movement is currently running strong and keeping accurate time, given its unknown service history a complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. This rarely seen vintage La Cloche Sub 200 two-register chronograph has a black “T SWISS MADE T” signed dial that is in pristine condition, free of any visibly noticeable scratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. Please note that there is some dust/debris on the underbelly of the crystal. The original tritium on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick-burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue. What makes this dial special and unique, other than it being in mint condition, is that only its top half has tritium-applied markers. The acrylic bezel , which rotates bidirectionally with the appropriate amount of tension and shows moderate wear , looks great. The massive all stainless steel case is, in my humble opinion, the highlight of this watch. It is beautifully cut and in wonderful condition. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “SWISS MADE SUPER WATERPROOF GUARANTEED 20 ATU SHOCK PROOF” with “905102 S” stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped 3930 A. The crystal shows scratching with some dust/debris on its underbelly. The Landeron 248 manual wind movement is exceptionally clean, runs strong keeping accurate time and all chronograph functions work as they should. The top pusher starts the sweep seconds hand and the bottom pusher stops and resets the sweep seconds and minute counter (right subdial) back to precisely 0. The pushers have a wonderful catch and release feel with no signs of gumminess. After recently winding the sharply threaded screwdown crown 53 full revolutions (phenomenal for a manual wind) the movement had an impressive power reserve of approximately 41 hours. The crown unscrews and screws back in perfectly as it should and winds beautifully. Given that this watch is approximately 45 years old and considering that the movement shows no signs of ever having been serviced (there are no visible watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back or on the movement), a complete overhaul is recommended. This watch measures approximately 40 mm excluding the crown, approximately 45 mm including the crown and approximately 22 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11 mm. This seldom seen vintage Silvana has an orange “T SWISS MADE T” signed dial that is in pristine condition, free of any scratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. The lume on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a momentary glow before quickly dissipating, has aged to an orange hue. While under high magnification the lume on the hour hand appears to be a slight shade lighter than the patina on the minute hand and dial, in person this subtle difference is nearly visually imperceptible. The black bezel, which rotates smoothly bidirectionally, presents as near pristine with the lume pip complementing the patina on the dial and hands perfectly. The all stainless steel case, which appears to have retained its original brushed satin finish to the top of the mid-case and sharp chamfers, is in excellent condition showing minor wear with no signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “WATERPROOF 20 ATU SWISS MADE INCABLOC ANTIMAGNETIC STAINLESS STEEL” with “10824” stamped along the inner edge. The inside of the case back is stamped 2352196. The crystal looks great. This seldom seen vintage Hamilton day-date has a matte black “T SWISS MADE T” signed dial that is in pristine condition, free of any scratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. The original lume, which remains fully intact and no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue. This reference never came with a bezel. The all stainless steel case shows minor wear with no signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “STAINLESS STEEL – WATERRESISTANT” with “825011 -3″ stamped in the center. The crystal should be replaced as it shows scratching, warping and chipping around the edges. While I normally show pictures of the movement of watches that I put up for sale the case back on this one is torqued too tight for me to remove. A skilled watchmaker will have no problems doing so. The automatic movement with quickset day and date function keeps accurate time and both the day and date wheels roll over as they should. The quickset date function works by pulling out the crown to the first position and then turning it clockwise until the desired date has been reached. The quickset day function works in precisely the same manner except the crown is turned counterclockwise. After winding the Hamilton signed, non-screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement had an impressive power reserve of approximately 48 hours. The crown winds smoothly. Given the movement’s unknown service history a complete overhaul is recommended. This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 38.5 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the mid-case, is approximately 10 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures 11 mm. The hands show signs of oxidation which in my humble opinion adds oodles of character and the vibrant orange seconds hand gives this watch a wonderful energy. The silver bezel, which rotates bidirectionally with a bit of tension , presents as pristine. The all stainless steel case, which appears to have retained its original brushed satin finish, is in excellent condition showing minor wear and no signs of oxidation. The crystal shows scratching. Vintage 1974 Caravelle 666 Feet Diver withMint Dial, Patina, All SS Case, Runs Strong

This vintage 1974 Caravelle has a matte black dial that is in pristine condition, free of any visibly noticeable scratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. The original lume on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick-burst glow on the hands only after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a golden buttermilk hue. The vibrant orange seconds hand complements the dial and patina beautifully. The bezel, which rotates a bit stiffly bidirectionally, is in excellent condition as is the jet black insert. The heavy duty all stainless steel case shows minor wear with the exception of a ding on the chamfer above the bottom right lug. The case shows no signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “CARAVELLE SHOCK RESISTANT WATER-RESISTANT TO 666 FEET STAINLESS STEEL ANTI MAGNETIC” with “N 4″ stamped along the inner edge. The inside of the case back is stamped “3286-DP” followed by “CARAVELLE DIV, “B. The crystal shows scratching and some dust/debris on its underbelly. Vintage Westclox Chronograph withMint Dial, Patina, Divers All SS Case, Valjoux 7733

This vintage Westclox two-register chronograph appears to be in untouched condition. It has a light silver “SWISS” only signed dial that is in pristine condition, free of any visibly noticeable scratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. The original tritium on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick-burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue. The black bezel, which rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents nicely. The heavy duty all stainless steel case shows minor wear with no signs of oxidation. The outside of the case back is stamped “ANTIMAGNETIC ALL STAINLESS STEEL CASE 634111 WATERRESISTANT SHOCKRESISTANT” with “WESTCLOX” and “600 FEET TESTED” stamped in the center. While the integrity of the crystal appears to be intact it should be replaced as it is heavily scratched and gouged. While I normally shows pictures of the movements of watches that I put up for sale, the case back on this one is torqued to what feels like factory specs. A skilled watchmaker will have no problems removing the case back. Having owned several identical examples of this reference and given the pusher action the movement is a Valjoux 7733 manual wind that keeps accurate time with all chronograph functions working as they should. The top pusher starts and stops the sweep seconds hand and the bottom pusher resets the sweep seconds hand and minute register (right subdial) back to precisely 0. Both pushers have a pleasant catch and release feel with no signs of gumminess. After recently winding the sharply threaded, non-screwdown crown 50 full revolutions (phenomenal for a manual wind) the movement had a solid power reserve of approximately 43 hours. The crown winds beautifully. Given that this watch is more than 45 years old and considering that the movement has likely never been serviced (case back shows no signs of ever having been removed) a complete overhaul is recommended. This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 11 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 13 mm. Although this watch runs strong, keeps accurate time and all chronograph functions work as they should, given its vintage nature and considering that the movement has likely never been serviced, a complete overhaul is recommended.
