FOR REPAIR – while the movement starts up immediately when the crown is pulled out to set the date/time and continues to run strong for several hours, keeping accurate time when the watch is moved in a brisk circular motion, the HEV screwdown crown does not generate friction when wound in the first position. Therefore no power reserve is generated by winding the crown. Additionally when moving the watch in a circular motion to generate power it feels as though the oscillating weight may be spinning a bit too freely. This is personal preference and does not affect the movement’s ability to keep time. Considering the movement’s unknown service history a complete overhaul is recommended. This rarely seen vintage Buren dive watch has a pristine gray satin dial that is free of any scratching, tool marks, defects or chipping. The original lume on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick-burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged beautifully to a perfectly matching golden buttermilk hue. The slightly faded black bezel, which smoothly rotates bidirectionally, looks good. The heavy duty all stainless steel case is built like a tank and is in wonderful condition, free of any visibly noticeable dents or dings. There appears to be a very light inscription on the back of one of the lugs which in person is visually imperceptible. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “SHOCKRESISTANT ANTIMAGNETIC STAINLESS STEEL CASE BASE METAL INDICATOR” with “TESTED TO A DEPTH OF 600 FEET 100% WATERRESISTANT AND CONDENSATION PROOF” stamped around the inner edge. The inside of the case back is stamped W. ” followed by “CASE MADE IN HONG KONG. While the integrity of the crystal is intact it should be replaced as it is heavily scratched. When unscrewing the approximate 4 mm HEV screwdown crown to the second position to set the date and time, the seconds hand immediately fires up. By moving the watch in a brisk, circular motion the power reserve can be built up for several hours. During this time the movement keeps near perfect time. However, when the crown is pulled out to the first position to wind the movement, there is no friction. Therefore, an adjustment will need to be made by a skilled watchmaker. Additionally it feels as though the oscillating weight moves a bit too freely and may benefit from being tightened. The quickset date function works flawlessly by pulling the crown out to the second position, rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. Considering the movement’s unknown service history (although there are watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back it has likely been several decades since the movement was last serviced) a complete overhaul is recommended. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 12 mm. Given that this watch does not wind correctly and considering its unknown service history, a complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. This exceedingly rare and unique vintage Mathey-Tissot Mergulhador UHF dive watch is spectacular and appears untouched. The orange rust satin “Swiss Made” signed dial, the only one I’ve ever seen, is exceptional and in perfect condition, free of any scratches, tool marks or defects. The original tritium on the dial and hands, which no longer emits a glow after being exposed to bright light, is fully intact and has aged to a golden butterscotch hue. The vibrant orange seconds hand gives the watch a wonderful energy. The bezel rotates bi-directionally and its in great condition. The all stainless steel case appears unpolished, showing light signs of use. There are no visible signs of oxidation/rust to the case and its free of any noticeable dents or dings. The outer edge of the case back, which shows the most wear on the case, is engraved “WATERRESISTANT INCABLOC STAINLESS STEEL SWISS MADE” with “MATHEY-TISSOT, “”AUTOMATIC, “”20 ATMOS” and “1635” engraved in the center. The crystal is in good shape with the exception of some gouging around the date window, although its integrity is intact. The 17 jewels ETA 2784 movement with quickset date function is beautiful and appears to be untouched (there are no watchmaker markings on the inside of the case back), keeping near perfect time with the date wheel rolling over as it should. After recently winding the crown 27 full revolutions the movement had an impressive power reserve of approximately 41 hours. It should be noted that the sharply threaded, non-dented crown is tight and a bit more difficult to wind than I would prefer, although I realize some may appreciate this feel. Nevertheless it should be mentioned. Despite keeping near perfect time and working as it should, considering that this watch is roughly 40 years old and likely having never been serviced before, a complete overhaul is suggested. This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 19.5 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 12 mm. As mentioned above, considering that this watch has likely never been serviced and given its vintage nature, a service is recommended. This seldom seen Baume & Mercier has a matte black “T-SWISS MADE-T” signed dial that is in pristine condition, free of any scratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. Please note that there is some dust/debris on the underbelly of the crystal and to a lesser degree the dial. The tritium, which remains fully intact and emits a quick-burst glow on the dial only after being exposed to bright light, has aged nicely. The black bezel, which rotates very stiffly, presents beautifully. The all stainless steel case is in excellent condition showing minor wear and very light signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “STAINLESS STEEL AUTOMATIC SWISS MADE SKIN DIVER 12 ATMOSPHERES WATERPROOF INCABLOC” with some difficult to read number stamped along the inner edge. The inside of the case back is stamped “MODELE” followed by MLB. The crystal shows light crazing and scratching as well as some dust/debris on its underbelly. The quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then repeatedly moving the hour hand between the 20.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After recently winding the sharply threaded, non-screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement had an impressive power reserve of approximately 43 hours. The crown winds smoothly. Given that this watch is more than 45 years old and considering that the movement appears to have been last serviced in 1986 (the lone etching “3-29-86 ABE” on the inside of the case back is likely a watchmaker service marking) a complete overhaul is recommended. This watch measures approximately 34 mm excluding the crown, approximately 37.5 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 10.5 mm. Given the vintage nature of this watch and considering that the movement appears to have been last serviced more than 33 years ago a complete overhaul is recommended. This vintage 1970’s Le Gran Superautomatic diver has a pristine glossy black “T SWISS T” signed dial that is free of any visibly noticeable scratching, tool marks or defects. The bezel, which smoothly rotates bidirectionally, looks great. The heavy duty all stainless steel case shows minor wear and is free of any significant dents or dings. The case back is stamped “ALL STAINLESS STEEL – SWISS MADE – SHOCKRESISTANT – WATERRESISTANT – TESTED 333 FEET – 10 ATMOS” with “LEGRAN CO” stamped on the inside of the case back. The crystal shows light scratching. Please note that over the past several decades some dust/debris has gotten between the crystal and crystal ring, settling on the underbelly of the crystal and to a lesser degree the dial. A skilled watchmaker will be able to quickly and easily remove this dust/debris. The quickset date function works flawlessly by either pushing in on the crown or by rolling over a new date and then repeatedly moving the hour hand between the 20.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After recently winding the sharply threaded, non-screwdown crown 30 full revolutions the movement had an impressive power reserve of approximately 41 hours. Although this watch runs strong and keeps near perfect time, given its vintage nature and unknown service history (there are no visible watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back or movement), a complete overhaul is recommended to keep it running strong. This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Vintage Elgin M135 Day-Date Diver withMint Dial, Warm Patina, All SS Case, PUW 1463

Considering that this watch has likely never been serviced, a complete overhaul is suggested. This vintage Elgin M135 is in wonderful condition. The matte black dial is pristine, free of any scratches, tool marks or defects. The original tritium on the dial and hands, which is fully intact and emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a toasted French vanilla hue. The orange seconds hand has faded to a slightly lighter shade than the vibrant orange found on the bezel, creating a beautiful contrast and giving the dial a wonderful energy. The orange and black bezel looks great and rotates bidirectionally. The all stainless steel case is very clean, showing minor signs of use and still retaining its original brushed satin finish. It is free of any noticeable dents or dings. The case back is stamped “ELGIN” followed by “STAINLESS STEEL” while the inside of the case back is stamped “GRABER” followed by “SWITZERLAND” and 4156. The crystal has light scratching. Please note that there is some minor oxidation on the retaining ring (to the left and right above 1 o’clock), which can likely be removed with a wirebrush during service. Additionally, while the dial appears flawless, over time some dust/debris has gotten between the retaining ring and crystal, settling on the underbelly of the crystal and to a lesser degree the dial. This dust/debris can be easily and quickly removed by a watchmaker using some Rodico and or a dial brush. On the wrist the dial looks spectacular, with the dust/debris being visually imperceptible. The 25 jewels PUW 1463 patented automatic movement with quickset date is lovely and keeps accurate time. Please refer to the asterisked section at the top and bottom of this listing description for more details. After recently winding the crown 39 full revolutions the watch had a very healthy power reserve of approximately 37 hours. The sharply threaded, non-dented crown winds buttery smooth. The quickset date function works by repeatedly moving the hour hand between hours 20 and 24 until arriving at the desired date. This watch measures approximately 36.5 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 11 mm. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. A full overhaul is recommended to keep this watching running strong. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. Vintage Paul Portinoux Chronograph withMint Tropical Brown Dial, Divers All SS Case

This rarely seen vintage Paul Portinoux two-register chronograph has a “T SWISS MADE T” signed dial that was originally born black but over the past several decades has turned naturally to a tropical brown color. It is in pristine condition, free of any scratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. In my humble opinion this dial is of museum quality. Please note that the first three pictures of the dial were taken in natural light (cloudy, overcast conditions) while pictures four through seven were taken on flash to more adequately show what the dial looks like under bright or sunlit conditions. The original tritium on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a warm buttermilk patina. This patina complements the brown dial perfectly. It appears that the sweep seconds hand was originally red to match the seconds counter (left subdial) but over time the red paint has morphed into black (there are documented cases of this chemical pathway). The all stainless steel case is beautifully and uniquely cut, displaying knurled lugs and sharp beveled edges. The case craftsmanship is truly special. It is in excellent condition showing light wear and free of any visibly noticeable dents or dings. The outside of the case back, which shows scratching, is stamped “ALL STAINLESS STEEL WATERRESISTANT INCABLOC ANTIMAGNETIC SWISS MADE” with J. P PINGOUIN CO” followed by “SWISS MADE stamped in the inside of the case back. The crystal shows light scratching and a small crack near the 7 and 8 o’clock marker. In person this crack is not easily noticeable and it appears that the integrity of the crystal remains intact. But it is recommended that the crystal be replaced. The 17 jewels unadjusted J. PINGOUIN Co stamped Valjoux 7733 manual wind movement is clean, keeps accurate time and all chronograph functions work as they should. The top pusher starts and stops the sweep seconds hand and the bottom pusher resets the sweep seconds and minute counter (right subdial) back to precisely 0. The pushers have a nice catch and release feel with no signs of gumminess. After recently winding the sharply threaded, non-screwdown crown 35 full revolutions, which is exceptional for a manual wind, the movement had an impressive power reserve of approximately 41 hours. Given that this watch is approximately 45 years old and considering that the movement shows no signs of ever having been serviced (there are no visible watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back or on the movement), a complete overhaul is recommended. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19.5 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the fixed bezel, is approximately 8.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11 mm. Although the movement runs strong, keeps near perfect time and all chronograph functions work as they should, given the vintage nature of this watch and considering that the movement shows no signs of ever having been serviced, a complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage Westclox Chronograph withMint Dial, Patina, Divers All SS Case, Valjoux 7733

This vintage Westclox two-register chronograph appears to be in untouched condition. It has a light silver “SWISS” only signed dial that is in pristine condition, free of any visibly noticeable scratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. The original tritium on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick-burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue. The black bezel, which rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents nicely. The heavy duty all stainless steel case shows minor wear with no signs of oxidation. The outside of the case back is stamped “ANTIMAGNETIC ALL STAINLESS STEEL CASE 634111 WATERRESISTANT SHOCKRESISTANT” with “WESTCLOX” and “600 FEET TESTED” stamped in the center. The crystal shows scratching. While I normally shows pictures of the movements of watches that I put up for sale, the case back on this one is torqued to what feels like factory specs. A skilled watchmaker will have no problems removing the case back. Having owned several identical examples of this reference and given the pusher action the movement is a Valjoux 7733 manual wind that keeps accurate time with all chronograph functions working as they should. The top pusher starts and stops the sweep seconds hand and the bottom pusher resets the sweep seconds hand and minute register (right subdial) back to precisely 0. Both pushers have a pleasant catch and release feel with no signs of gumminess. After recently winding the sharply threaded, non-screwdown crown 50 full revolutions (phenomenal for a manual wind) the movement had a solid power reserve of approximately 43 hours. The crown winds beautifully. Given that this watch is more than 45 years old and considering that the movement has likely never been serviced (case back shows no signs of ever having been removed) a complete overhaul is recommended. This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 11 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 13 mm. Although this watch runs strong, keeps accurate time and all chronograph functions work as they should, given its vintage nature and considering that the movement has likely never been serviced, a complete overhaul is recommended.
