This watch is 68 years old yet dial passes for new, the hands pass for new, and the bracelet passes for new. All these named parts are genuine Rolex on this watch, and my theory is that this watch was one of the last bubblebacks to be refurbished by Rolex with all genuine Rolex parts before Rolex deemed bubblebacks to be obsolete and stopped refurbishing them. It was probably refurbished with a bracelet, dial, hands, and winding crown in the 1980s and then promptly put away. BUBBLEBACKS ONLY GO ONE WAY IN PRICE, UP. Last week the Perpetual winding Rolex signed Bubbleback movement with sweeping seconds hand was fully inspected, it is running perfectly. At that time the watch case, case back, crystal, bezel, and bracelet were professionally polished and satin refinshed leaving them looking very nice. The case measures 32 mm wide excluding the crown (it’s an average sized mens watch for the time period, not oversized like modern watches, and looks great on ladies too). The winding crown is a genuine Rolex twin lock screw down crown with Rolex coronet. It screws down nice and tight. The coin edges on the case back show no improper tool use. The band is a genuine Rolex “folded” Oyster link bracelet with straight bar end pieces model 7835-17. The bracelet passes for new. The dial appears to have never been refinished and looks new. The pictures have been taken from every angle and represent the watch well, in fact they are 3x magnified, the dial is beautiful, and the watch is polished to a perfect shine.
